Dear Parents and Students, 

Welcome to the 2023 – 2024 school year. Grand County High School staff is excited to see our students on campus and feel the excitement of a new school year. As part of our continuing tradition, our Student Government chooses a theme for the school year, and this year, they have chosen, WE > ME. To provide each of our students with a 21st century education, we will again provide our students with a Chromebook. The implementation of Technology in our classrooms provides each of our students an opportunity to become global learners. It is our desire that each student learns and grows as global citizens; each person matters and brings value to our school community. This year, we are also moving to a four quarters and two semester’s system of educational study. We feel that this will allow our students to delve deeper into course content and be better prepared to transition from one grade level to the next. Our goal is to prepare all students for life after high school. As ‘Red Devils’, we provide each student an inclusive educational experience, where each student feels part of our ‘Red Devil’ Family. We desire that all our students receive the best possible education, in a safe environment, where creating an inclusive environment is our top priority. We pride ourselves in supporting each student, and that each student grows academically, socially, and emotionally! There will always be support found for each one of our students! 

As the new principal, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Todd Thompson, and I have worked in public education since the late 90’s in both middle school and high school settings. I am married to the love of my life, Irene. Together, we have six children and three grandsons. We are grateful for the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place amongst such wonderful people.  

Again, we welcome you to a start of a special year, where our “Red Devil” staff will work tirelessly to provide each student an individualized educational experience where each of our students will thrive academically!
