Notice: Gov. issues new order today for May 31 mask mandate change

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Utah's Governor Cox just released an updated health order regarding the wearing of face masks at school. According to the new health order, the mask mandate ends on the last Monday of every district's school year, or on May 31 for schools whose end date is after May 31. It appears the Governor did this to allow each school to be open for at least one week without the requirement for masks. What this means for Grand County School District is that masks will not be required to be worn after May 31. Grand County's last day of school is Friday, June 11. Staff and students may still choose to wear a mask after May 31, but it will not be required. If you have any questions please read the attached health order and then call the District Office.

Truly,

Taryn Kay

Superintendent

Grand County School District
