CTE students design holiday wrapping paper dresses

Grand County High School students created holiday wrapping paper dresses in CTE Fashion Design Studio class.

The high school's CTE (Career and Technical Education) program includes classes in arts, media, fashion, digital and graphic design.

CTE Fashion Design Teacher Mrs. Pflugrad said students will vote for the best dress when students return from holiday break in January. Link to vote here.

"It was a lot of fun hearing the students talk using teamwork and sharing their enthusiasm for the project," Mrs. Pflugrad said. "This project showed student teamwork, engagement and excitement."

The holiday wrapping paper fashion design dress project took one week to complete and students drafted their designs before they picked out their holiday paper. They also used holiday ribbon, tissue paper, bows and tulle to make the dresses on dress forms.

Tenth-grade CTE student Emmalyne Smith said the project was exciting for everyone.

"It was a very challenging project, but it was fun and I would recommend this CTE fashion class to everyone," she said.

The dresses are named and labeled, in left to right order: Wrapped in Red (#5), Princess Snowflake Sparkle Bottom (#3), The Gift of Winters (#2), Evergreen Dream (#1), Candy Cane Dreams (#4).
